Former US President and current Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, has made headlines by accusing the Democratic Party of attempting to cheat in the upcoming 2024 election.

This claim, however, comes without any supporting evidence. Trump's allegations were made during a rally in Greenville, North Carolina, where he expressed concerns about potential voter fraud, particularly in California, a state known for its Democratic leanings.

Trump's rhetoric is not new; it echoes his previous assertions regarding the 2020 election, which he lost. He has consistently questioned the legitimacy of that election, alleging widespread voter fraud despite multiple court rulings dismissing such claims.

At the rally, Trump remarked, “Did you ever hear the expression that the vote counter is far more important than the candidate? Unfortunately, we can’t let that happen. We’ve gotta take it back.”

The former president's comments have sparked a range of reactions, with many expressing skepticism and criticism. One commenter on Linda Ikeji's blog noted, “He’s already thinking of losing the elections.

Stop sounding like Mr Giringori.” Another warned of potential consequences if Trump were to react unfavorably to an election loss, referencing the events of January 6th, 2021.
