Trump Announces No Third Debate with Harris After Campaign Memo Shows Gains in Crucial States

Former President Donald Trump has emphatically declared that there will be "NO THIRD DEBATE" with Vice President Kamala Harris.

This announcement came shortly after an internal campaign poll revealed that Trump had received a "2-point bump" from their recent debate on ABC News, while Harris saw no significant change in her support.

Trump, 78, took to his Truth Social platform to assert his victory in the debates, stating, "Polls clearly show that I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate." He further criticized Harris for calling for another debate, likening her to a prizefighter who demands a rematch after losing.

The decision not to engage in a third debate was influenced by several factors, including Harris' refusal to participate in previously scheduled debates on Fox News and NBC News. Instead, Trump held a town hall event in Pennsylvania with Sean Hannity on September 4, 2024.

Despite Trump's claims of victory, a Leger poll commissioned by The Post indicated that Harris won the debate, 50% to 29%, although she did not gain additional support. Conversely, Trump’s support increased by one percentage point, narrowing the gap between him and Harris to 50% to 47%.

The Trump campaign memo highlighted gains in key battleground states, though it did not specify which states were targeted. Notably, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada remain highly contested.

The endorsement of Trump by RFK Jr., who remains on the ballot in Michigan and Wisconsin, is seen as a strategic advantage for the former president.

In his Truth Social post, Trump lambasted the current administration, stating, "KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE DURING THE LAST ALMOST FOUR YEAR PERIOD," and blamed Harris and President Biden for various national issues, including unchecked immigration and inflation.

Ultimately, Trump concluded, "THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!" emphasizing his belief that the previous debates sufficiently addressed the critical issues facing the nation.
