The White House has rejected the International Criminal Court's (ICC) arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
These leaders are accused of committing crimes against humanity and war crimes during the recent conflict in Gaza. The allegations include using starvation as a method of warfare and engaging in murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts.
The ICC's decision comes after a period marked by intense military actions that have displaced nearly the entire population of Gaza.
The ongoing blockade has resulted in severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine, pushing the region to the brink of humanitarian disaster.
Despite these grave accusations, the United States has firmly stated its position, with a National Security Council spokesperson declaring, "The United States fundamentally rejects the Court’s decision to issue arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials."
The U.S. government has expressed deep concerns over what it perceives as procedural errors in the ICC's decision-making process and has emphasized that it does not recognize the court's jurisdiction in this matter.
In coordination with international partners, including Israel, the U.S. is exploring next steps to address the situation.
