U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has confirmed plans to declare a national emergency to facilitate mass deportations of undocumented migrants.

This initiative, which Trump described as the "largest deportation program in American history," aims to remove individuals living in the United States without legal permission, focusing primarily on those deemed criminals and national security threats.

Trump took to social media to affirm his commitment to this controversial campaign promise. Responding to a post by Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton, Trump emphatically stated, “TRUE!!!” regarding reports of the incoming administration's preparations to use "military assets" for the deportation effort. He further pledged, "On Day 1, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get the criminals out."

The plan involves deploying the National Guard and potentially relocating thousands of troops from overseas to secure the U.S.-Mexico border.

Trump has already appointed several immigration hard-liners to key positions, including South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as Homeland Security Secretary and former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan as "border czar."

Homan has previously outlined a strategy that prioritizes expelling criminals and national security threats, though he did not rule out deporting families together.

In a this development, This move marks a fundamental shift in the role of the military, which traditionally does not engage in domestic law enforcement issues.

The estimated cost of deporting approximately 11 million unauthorized migrants could run into billions of dollars annually, according to the American Immigration Council.

As Trump prepares to take office, his administration's focus on stringent immigration policies and enhanced border security is set to reshape the landscape of U.S. immigration enforcement.
