Universal Music Group (UMG) has issued a copyright violation claim against Drake for sharing portions of his recently released trove of unheard music on social media.

The rapper had surprised fans by dropping a massive collection of unreleased content, including old songs, videos, and even plans for his private jet’s exterior decor, through a burner Instagram account named @plottttwistttttt.

The treasure trove included three new tracks titled "It’s Up" featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, "Housekeeping Knows" with Latto, and "Blue Green Red." Additionally, behind-the-scenes footage from the studio, the making of the "Hotline Bling" video, and a 16-page concept pack for his plane were part of the release.

Latto shared a video on X (formerly known as Twitter) rapping her verse from the collaboration with Drake, while producer Gordo enthusiastically posted about the track, declaring, "DRAKE – HOUSEKEEPING KNOWS PRODUCED BY MEEEEEEE!!!! HES BAAAAAAACKKKK!!!"

Despite the excitement among fans, UMG quickly reacted by issuing a copyright strike. The notification came from Instagram, but it did not specify which song triggered the violation.

The label argued that Drake’s contract did not permit him to release this content independently. Consequently, the three new songs were taken down and are no longer available to stream on Drake's official website.

Drake confirmed the copyright strike himself by sharing a screenshot of the notification on his Finsta account, @plottttwistttttt. The screenshot indicated that access to the content had been restricted due to reports from a third party, which was UMG.
