British pop sensation Adele paused her concert in Munich on Saturday night to broadcast the women's 100-meter final from the Paris Olympics.

The event took place during the second night of her 10-show residency at the custom-built Adele Arena, which can accommodate up to 80,000 fans.

As the race unfolded on the enormous screens installed at the venue, the audience watched in awe as Saint Lucia's Julien Alfred clinched gold with a national record time of 10.72 seconds. This victory marked Saint Lucia's first-ever Olympic medal. Team USA's Sha'Carri Richardson secured silver with a time of 10.87 seconds, while her compatriot Melissa Jefferson took home bronze, clocking in at 10.92 seconds.

Adele, a 16-time Grammy Award winner, couldn't hide her excitement for the race. "I just had to share this moment with you all," she told the crowd, who cheered in agreement.

The singer's decision to air the race mid-concert was met with widespread approval, both in the arena and online. Fans took to social media to express their admiration, with one tweeting, "Only Adele would play the Olympics during her show."

The concert, held at Messe München, temporarily renamed "Adele Arena" following $130 million in renovations, featured a new setlist including hits like "I'll Be Waiting," "All I Ask," and "Chasing Pavements." The venue also boasts a 721-by-98-foot LED screen, a 43,000-square-foot stage and an English pub, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.

Adele's Munich residency, which began on August 2nd, will continue until the end of the month, with two shows each week.

Given her evident enthusiasm for the Olympics, this may not be the last time she turns the spotlight onto Paris during her performances.
