Former U.S. President and Republican candidate Donald Trump has zeroed in on Pennsylvania as the linchpin to securing victory.
Speaking on Philadelphia's Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, Trump declared, "If we win Pennsylvania, we win the whole deal."
This statement shows the critical importance both he and his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris, place on the state in their quest to capture the 270 electoral votes needed to claim the White House.
Pennsylvania, with its 19 electoral votes, stands out as the most influential among the seven swing states that are likely to determine the election's outcome.
Both candidates have directed great campaign efforts towards this northeastern state, recognizing its potential to tip the scales in their favor.
Trump emphasized the necessity of voter participation, urging citizens to exercise their "absolute legal right" to vote. He expressed confidence that a victory in Pennsylvania would pave the way for an overall electoral triumph, stating, "We’re going to make this country greater than ever before, but you have to stay in line."
As polls closed at 8 pm (0100 GMT), provisions were made to ensure that voters still in line could cast their ballots, highlighting the state's pivotal role in the election.
