WAEC Officially Announces Commencement of WASSCE CBT Exams Date

Esther

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially announced the commencement dates for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2024 – Second Series.

According to the announcement, the exams will begin on Friday, October 25, and conclude on Friday, December 20, 2024.

The examination will adopt a hybrid format, which combines digital and traditional methods. As outlined by WAEC, "objective or multiple-choice questions will be displayed on-screen, and candidates will respond on-screen. However, for essay and practical questions, while the questions will also be on-screen, responses must be written in provided answer booklets."

This approach aims to streamline the testing process while accommodating various candidate preferences.

In line with recent trends in educational assessments, WAEC is embracing technological advancements to enhance accessibility and efficiency.

The introduction of the hybrid exam format reflects broader digital transformation efforts within educational frameworks.

Additionally, WAEC has extended the registration deadline to Tuesday, October 29, 2024, and introduced a "Walk-in Candidate" option, allowing candidates to register up to 24 hours before their chosen exam paper.

To support candidates, WAEC encourages the use of its e-Study platform, purchase of past questions and answers, and engagement with peers on the WAECKonnect platform. These resources are designed to help candidates prepare effectively for the exams.
