Captain of the United States Men's National Team (USMNT), Christian Pulisic has explained his decision to perform the viral "Trump dance" after scoring a goal in the Concacaf Nations League match against Jamaica.

The game, held in St. Louis, saw the USMNT triumph with a 4-2 victory, advancing them to the semifinals.

Pulisic, who plays for AC Milan, mimicked the signature moves of president-elect Donald Trump after netting the opening goal. In a post-match interview, Pulisic clarified that his celebration was not intended as a political statement but rather as a humorous gesture, stating, "It was just a dance that everyone’s doing. He’s the one who created it. I just thought it was funny."

Despite his intentions, the celebration has sparked discussions and could potentially lead to further scrutiny of Pulisic and his teammates, especially as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which the U.S. will co-host.
