The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike made a bold declaration of loyalty to President Bola Tinubu, whom he regards as a father figure.
This statement comes amid an ongoing political feud with Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State.
Wike, who was appointed by Tinubu, expressed his unwavering belief in the president's capabilities. "I believed in his capacity and never hid my intentions of what I’m going to do," Wike stated during his appearance on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today.
The conflict between Wike and Fubara has been escalating, primarily revolving around political dominance and resource control in Rivers State.
Despite President Tinubu's efforts to mediate and make both parties sign a peace pact, the tension remains unresolved.
Wike accused Fubara of taking advantage of Tinubu's presidential intervention to insult others. "The governor took advantage of the presidential intervention to insult everybody," Wike remarked.
Wike emphasized his loyalty to Tinubu, saying, "I owe my loyalty to Mr President.
The president said do this and that, but he [Fubara] went back and raised over 40 litigations."
