Rosie, a fluffy tortoiseshell cat believed to be the world's oldest, has passed away at the age of 33 in her home in Norwich, Norfolk. Her owner, Lila Brissett, who adopted Rosie as a kitten in 1991, was by her side when she died. Rosie turned 33 on June 1, 2024, which is equivalent to 152 human years.

Despite her advanced age, Rosie enjoyed a life filled with love and care, often found napping in the window of Lila's home. Lila expressed her sorrow, saying, "I miss her so much. She wasn't very well and one day she just walked into the hallway of the house, laid down and passed away. There were lots of good memories though and I'm happy we had our time together."

Rosie's passing means that the title of the world's oldest living cat now belongs to Flossie, a 28-year-old British tortoiseshell cat from Kent. Flossie, born on December 29, 1995, has lived in four homes and is roughly 120 human years old. Despite being deaf and having poor eyesight, Flossie remains affectionate and playful, according to her owner, Vicki Green.

The record for the oldest cat ever recorded still belongs to Creme Puff, a mixed tabby domestic cat from Austin, Texas, who lived to be 38 years and 3 days old. Creme Puff's longevity is attributed to a unique diet that included bacon, eggs, broccoli, and coffee with cream every morning.
