Kanunta Kanu, the brother of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has publicly criticized Southeast politicians in response to Sunday Igboho's recent actions.

Igboho, a prominent Yoruba Nation agitator, had submitted a petition to the UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, advocating for the creation of a Yoruba nation. Notably, Igboho's approach was peaceful and devoid of threats, a point emphasized by Kanunta Kanu.
In contrast, he accused some Southeast politicians of collaborating with the Nigerian Army and the Department of State Services (DSS) to abduct "Biafran youths" who were similarly demanding self-determination.
Kanunta expressed his frustration on X, stating, "Sunday Igboho Submits Petition To UK Prime Minister To Consider ‘Yoruba Nation’ Agitation without any threat. But South East politicians are busy kidnapping 'Biafran youths' in collaboration with @HQNigerianArmy and @OfficialDSSNG for demanding same." The Yoruba Nation movement, led by Prof. Adebanji Akintoye, seeks the intervention of the UK government to establish a country predominantly owned by indigenous Yoruba people.
