'Your Days Are Numbered' - Air Chief Promises Unrelenting Fight Against Bandits

The Chief of the Nigerian Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar on Saturday made a major commitment to intensify aerial operations against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminals in Nigeria's Northwest. This pledge was made during his visit to Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State as part of ongoing military operations directed by President Bola Tinubu.

Abubakar assured that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) would sustain its offensive efforts in the region, stating, "Let me, therefore, send a clear message to these criminal elements. I assure you, your days are numbered. We will not rest until we ensure that you meet your fate soon. We will find you no matter where you hide and how long it takes. I assure you, you will test the full weight of our arsenal in the coming weeks or months. We will intensify our air operation in the region."

However, Abubakar expressed concern over the lack of an operational base in Sokoto, which is crucial for the full-scale commencement of Air Force operations. He called on the state government to provide the essential requirements needed for this purpose.

In response, Governor Aliyu, represented by his deputy Alhaji Idris Gobir, emphasized that the current administration prioritizes security issues and is ready to invest more resources to restore peace in the state. Aliyu stated, "We want you to mobilize all your firepower to the state. We are ready to support you because we want our people to start witnessing your presence in the state."
