Zelenskiy Condemns US and Allies for Inaction Against Russian Military Actions in North Korea

Esther

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has openly criticized the United States and its allies for their lack of response to Russia's deployment of North Korean soldiers in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

In an interview with South Korea's KBS television channel, Zelenskiy expressed his frustration, stating that the "zero" reaction from Western nations could embolden Russian President Vladimir Putin to further increase the number of North Korean troops involved.

Zelenskiy revealed that Moscow is actively seeking to recruit North Korean engineering troops and civilians to work at Russian military plants, a move he described as a significant escalation.

Despite acknowledging this as a major development, Western allies have yet to announce any retaliatory measures or plans to counteract this new alliance between Russia and North Korea.

"Putin is checking the reaction of the West," Zelenskiy remarked, emphasizing his belief that the current Western response is inadequate.

The Ukrainian leader's comments come at a critical time, with Russian forces making slow but steady advances in eastern Ukraine.

The situation is further complicated by the upcoming U.S. presidential election, which adds an element of uncertainty to the international response.

Meanwhile, South Korea has offered intelligence support and is considering sending military monitors to Ukraine, highlighting the complex geopolitical dynamics at play.
